The conservative church of his origin rejected Paul for being gay; then, he walked away from organized religion for a decade. Now, he is a Christian and absolutely at peace with who he is and how God created him. Paul’s approach to spiritual direction involves deep listening and reflection and draws upon many Christian spiritual traditions, including Contemplative and Ignation. He trained in the art of spiritual direction at the University of Redlands Graduate School of Theology. Additionally, he has been employed in the airline industry for 39 years and has been a member of the airline’s Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) team for over 10 years. Most recently Paul was ordained as a deacon in the Episcopal Church.
