Encounter God - Be Renewed
WEEK ONE
Throughout the centuries the Hebrew nation has waited for the fulfillment of prophesies made about a redeemer – the Messiah – and a new age of justice and peace.
Waited… For centuries.
Modern culture resists waiting. We pay extra to pre-board a plane; we order online and ship overnight; we microwave food, speed date, and watch movies on demand. Holiday activities begin earlier every year.
And yet, life doesn’t always comply with this desire for instant gratification. We wait for loved ones to come home, we wait for injuries to heal, we wait to be seen or heard… or known.
On this first week of Advent we prepare to celebrate the birth of Jesus by remembering the longing of the Jews, and the longings of our own hearts. Join us as we reflect on the blessing of WAITING with seasonal music, contemplative readings, and prayerful meditation.
